WHAT I DO

I am a professional manager with 7+ years of experience in product, marketing and business development. I enjoy driving engineering and marketing teams to build intuitive products to solve highly complex technical challenges.

ACHIEVEMENTS

CREATE - COVID-19 RESPONSE

I launched a new business to provide design, test engineering and contract manufacturing services to new COVID-19 related electromechanical devices. I led business development and contract negotiations to close two deals supporting design and production of 7,500 ventilators for the Government of Canada. Read the story here.

AERATION

Oil aeration is the concentration of air in oil, expressed as a percentage of the total volume. Air in oil is bad thing, as it hurts the oil’s ability to lubricate and act as a hydraulic fluid (air makes it compressible). This hurts efficiency across a wide variety of applications, ultimately increasing CO2 emissions.

I led the development (from product definition, prototype validation to launch) of an electromechanical oil aeration sensor for R&D use in the automotive and off-highway markets. During this process, I engaged in voice-of-customer exercises with several major OEMs, turning three of them into customers. I also forged a strategic partnership with a Fortune 500 lubricant additives company to exchange technical research and market intelligence on the aeration phenomenon.

AUTOMOTIVE

Every vehicle consists of components that interface with oils and coolants, including electric vehicles. The design of these components must be tested for performance and durability as early as possible in development, to enable the rapid innovation demanded by today’s consumer. The alternative may result in a loss of efficiency, recalls or worse.

Based on customer feedback, I defined a product line of ‘turn-key’ R&D test systems focused on providing the quickest path to validate pumps, valves and heat exchangers. I developed and executed a go-to-market strategy that resulted in several major Tier 1 automotive suppliers adopting these systems in the USA, Europe and Asia.
